In just a few days, I’ll be releasing the official details for the launch of my book To My Son(s): Letters from a Mother Who Dreamed You First.
As I tie up the final threads and prepare to send out invitations, I find myself thinking again about the boy child — the heart behind this entire journey.
And today, I want to say this:
When you succeed, I hope you date and marry well.
Because success, my sons, is not just about what you build, but also about who you build with.
There are women who will multiply what you give them — and there are others who will quietly drain everything you are until there is nothing left but exhaustion wearing a brave face.
Choose presence over presentation.
Choose peace over performance.
Choose a woman whose silence heals you, not one whose company wounds you.
As I wrote this book, I realized how much of manhood is shaped not only by fathers but also by the women who walk alongside men. Some will hold your hand and call out the greatness in you. Others will compete with the very calling that made you who you are.
So, when you succeed — and I know you will — may you never lose discernment in the name of desire.
And as we step into the final stretch before the launch, I am reminded that this message, this book, and this journey were never about numbers.
They were about conversations that needed to be had.
To My Son(s) isn’t just a title.
It’s a mirror, a prayer, and a call to wisdom.
