From Home to Income: Training 50 Moms for Virtual Assistant & Remote Jobs

August 18, 2025

In August 2025, we successfully hosted the first edition of our “From Home to Income” Bootcamp, a three-day intensive training designed to equip stay-at-home moms with practical skills to access online and remote work opportunities.

Over 50 mothers took part in this program, representing diverse backgrounds, experiences, and age groups. Many of them had put their careers on hold to raise families, while others had been unemployed for years. Despite these challenges, they came with one thing in common: the determination to build new pathways to income from the comfort of their homes.

What the Training Covered

The bootcamp was structured to introduce participants to the Virtual Assistant (VA) career path—one of the most flexible and in-demand opportunities in the digital economy. Participants received practical training on:

  • Essential VA tools such as Google Calendar, Gmail, Canva, Zoom, and Trello.
  • Portfolio building strategies to position themselves for online work opportunities.
  • Job platforms and application strategies to secure remote roles.
  • Mindset and confidence building, helping them transition into the digital workspace with clarity and focus.

Each mom also received a Virtual Assistant Starter Toolkit, a downloadable resource pack to guide them beyond the bootcamp.

The Impact

The transformation during these three days was remarkable. Many participants who had never considered themselves “tech-savvy” gained confidence navigating digital tools. They shared testimonies about how the program opened their eyes to a world of opportunities they had previously thought were beyond their reach.

By the end of the training, mothers left empowered with:

  • Practical, market-ready skills.
  • Clarity on the VA career path and remote job market.
  • A supportive community of peers—other moms walking the same journey.

Why This Matters

Stay-at-home moms are often overlooked in workforce development conversations. Yet, they represent a powerful force of resilience, discipline, and multitasking—qualities that make them excellent candidates for remote work.

This program proved that with the right training and support, mothers can successfully redefine their economic futures without sacrificing the time and presence their families need.

Looking Ahead

This was only the beginning. Following the success of the first edition, we are expanding into Part Two of the Bootcamp, focusing on advanced digital skills such as Gmail etiquette, Google Drive, Google Forms, minute-taking, and professional communication.

Our mission remains clear: to equip more women with digital skills, confidence, and opportunities that allow them to thrive in today’s evolving world of work.
